So a bit about us… we are a couple in our thirty-somethings who are lucky enough to be taking a career break to travel together for seven months. We will be hitting South America, Fiji, New Zealand and South East Asia.
Take a chance. Make a change. The time is now.
I would describe Laura as a mountain warrior, she loves climbing heights…and jumping off them. If Laura was an animal I would say she would fall somewhere in between a mountain goat (fit and nibble) and a grouse (beautiful birds who can’t fly very well so they just fall down). Laura provides a great sense of inspiration to me and her charming, patient and well-rounded character will certainly be tested to their limits!
We met in May 2016 through the modern yet unromantic game of online dating. After a couple of dates and succumbing to each other’s unique charms, we became an official couple in the July.
We have both been working for over ten years and to date have been really ambitious and our focus has been on progressing our careers, and getting on the property ladder. We decided that there has to be more to life and we needed time out of the rat race, to lift our heads up and check ourselves and the direction we were taking.
We made the decision to go travelling together in the October and over the last twelve months have been saving like crazy. And now we are here – jobless, homeless, carless but the most excited we have ever been about the adventure that lies ahead.
Whilst we have done lots of travelling, we are not a backpack and hostel kind of couple! So this is certainly going to be a test! Individually and as a couple.
We will attempt to share with you our experiences, our feelings and emotions and lessons we learn along the way… we hope you enjoy following our journey!
