Serial Overpackers
It’s a serious condition and one we have yet to get under control! I’m shamed to admit but we are the kind of couple who go away for three nights but pack for ten.
Now, however, as we set off for the airport with our ‘his and hers’ matching backpacks (not even joking!), I’m afraid our serial overpacking is definitely working against us. I’m almost embarrassed to share the picture of our epic luggage!
I have packed, repacked, culled my clothes, culled some more and given it now all fits in, I’m too broken to attempt any further culling and have declared it’s contents all essential.
At risk of sounding like the only child I am, the hardest part for me is limiting the choice I have when we travel. I’m a ‘just in case we need it’ kind of packer and the unknown of the next few months means I want to be prepared for any eventuality.
Top tip: It takes two people to pack one bag – we packed my bag together and then Nav’s, so we could focus on what each of us needed. We also found it really helpful to lay out on the bed everything we wanted to take and then started the culling process!
